Postnatal Core Restore Classes

The Postnatal Core Restore series is designed  to help restore your body postpartum and address common problems such as urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and diastasis recti abdominus.  The classes integrate posture and breathing exercises,  spinal mobility exercise, pelvic health education, introductory hypopressives, and progressive core strengthening exercises. The class sizes are small to allow for individualized feedback.taught by Wendy Miller, Physiotherapist and Pilates instructor, and Monate Praamsma, Physiotherapist.

Therapeutic Benefits:

  • Help prevent or manage common postnatal complaints including low back or pelvic pain, abdominal and pelvic floor muscle weakness, incontinence, prolapse or diastasic recti abdomens
  • Optimize your posture, breathing patterns and ability to regulate pressures

  • Learn introductory Hypopressives

Postnatal Physiotherapy Assessment 

A postnatal physiotherapy assessment (virtual or in-clinic) is required prior to starting the classes.

The Postnatal Physiotherapy Assessment includes screening for:

  • low back, thoracic or pelvic pain or pubic symphysis pain
  • abdominal weakness
  • prolapse
  • urinary incontinence
  • pelvic floor muscle hypertonicity and/or weakness
  • perineal scars and c-section scars
  • breathing assessment
  • cuing for optimal core muscle recruitment
  • posture and body mechanics
