Fit for Life: Physio Classes for Adults over 60 – Virtual
Group virtual physiotherapist-led classes to improve overall strength, flexibility, and balance in adults over 60.
Small class sizes to allow for individualized instruction, modification and progression of exercises.
The goals of these classes are to improve your strength, flexibility, and balance so that you can stay strong and fit as you age.

Therapeutic Benefits
The classes are specifically designed for adults over 60 of all abilities with:
- Decreased muscle strength, flexibility and balance
- An interest in staying healthy, active and fit
The classes are also beneficial for participants with:
- Arthritic pain
- Osteoporosis or osteopenia
- Cardiovascular deconditioning
- A history of falls or fear of falling
- Incontinence and other pelvic health symptoms
An initial one-on-one physiotherapy assessment is required prior to starting the classes to determine:
- your baseline strength, flexibility and balance
- your current functional restrictions and goals
- the need for additional one-on-one physiotherapy services such as pelvic health physiotherapy for incontinence or other pelvic health symptoms and/or orthopaedic manual therapy for arthritis or pain
Instructor
Classes are instructed by Galia Carranco Herrera, Registered Physiotherapist, MScPT, BScKin.
Galia brings to the classes her experience in Orthopaedics, Pelvic Health and Geriatrics, her skills in exercise prescription and Kinesiology and her personal experience in competitive sports and coaching.

Payment
$145 for the initial physiotherapy assessment
$240 for 6 classes
Extended health physiotherapy coverage may apply if a physiotherapy assessment is completed prior to the start of the classes.
